Hello Friends. I am on the way once again. Here’s an update of this week’s travel. After a wonderful experience serving the people of St. Andrew Presbyterian in Purcellville, I am seeking a new opportunity in ministry. So I will soon be posting here on my own site once again. I spent a good bit of the last three weeks on the emotional rollercoaster of letting go of things, saying goodbyes to friends, and welcoming the uncertainty of new beginnings. On our way to spend some time with family and friends, we took a short break to do a few fun things.

Washington Hebrew Cemetary
That is if you call visiting a cemetary “fun.” I had a moment to see where my grandparents and uncle are buried and unexpectedly discovered (because my cousin was an excellent tour guide) that my great-grandparents, and one set of great, great grands were also buried there! The only unwelcome guests in that graveyard were the ticks we came away with. Yuck! Hoping all of us are safe from disease.
Later in the week as we headed out of VA, we paused to walk across the James River on the longest foot-traffic only bridge on the Appalachian Trail. I’ve had a fun time imagining the shock of the young people there had I actually said “yes,” to their invite to jump into the river with them! Our hobby of crossing bridges continues and we expect a trip across the mighty Mississippi soon.
We enjoyed a meal at Chauhan Ale and Masala House in Nashville, TN. We highly recommend the Tandoori Shrimp and Grits and the Braised Chicken with Korma curry sauce. And now we are resting with family before the next leg of our trip. Soon my longing to sermonize and blog will kick back in after a little R&R. See you here! Until then, the peace that passes all understanding be yours as we all struggle for moments of calm in this turbulent world.
Now go–be you!
Peace, Beverly
